Leak Test
1 Press the menu swtch (1) on the front panel
2 Select LEAK TEST, n Standby Mode
3 Wth the bag/vent control (2) n VENT poston, ths checks
for a leak usng an occluded breathng system
NOTE
a) If ftted, dsconnect gas samplng modules connected
to patent montorng equpment durng ths test
b) Ths procedure checks the breathng system for
pressure leakage, and calculates and dsplays Leak
Level and Breathng System omplance
4 Occlude the breathng crcut at the patent Y-pece
5 Ensure that the absorber Bag/Vent control (2) s swtched
to the Vent poston, and the bellows are fully nflated
6 heck that the bag (3) s removed
Dsconnect the fresh gas hose from the outlet (4 or 5) on

7 Press the menu swtch (1)
8 Select LEAK TEST from the man menu
9 Select <START/STOP LEAK TEST> to start the leak test
The ventlator wll now drve gas nto the absorber untl
a pressure of 30 cmHO s obtaned, and then hold that
pressure for approxmately 25 seconds before releasng
the pressure and completng the test
10 The menu wll dsplay the leak test results
a) Leak Level Leak rate s dsplayed
NOTE
Durng the test, any pressure drop dscovered once the 30
cmHO level s reached wll be dsplayed as a possble leak
by the ventlator self-test
Ths ncludes pressure drop due to the relaxaton of
any elastc components n the breathng system (eg a
breathng bag)
b) BSys omp omplance
BSys omp s the complance of the breathng system
and s the value that wll be used n provdng the
default complance compensaton for volume delvery
NOTE
a) Default value s 70 cmHO
Upper lmt s 18 cmHO (suffcent for normal
breathng system capactes)
b) The ventlator wll contnue to operate, rrespectve of
any detected leak
c) It is the responsibility of the user to determine if the
detected leak is significant.
