3.3 Gas Circuit Components
3.3.1 Cylinder Yokes
The yokes (1) are rear mounted and conform wth ISO
standards for pn-ndex fttng To ensure that only cylnders of
the approprate gas may be nstalled the yokes are desgned
so that the retanng latch cannot be closed unless the ndex
pns are fully engaged
3.3.2 Pipeline Inlets
Up to three, rear mounted ppelne gas nlets (2) can be ftted
Ppelne supply hoses are connected by terrtory-specfc, non-
nterchangeable, screw threaded unons
AUTION
A malfuncton of the central gas supply wthn your faclty
may cause mmedate cessaton of gas delvery and total
anaesthesa system falure
3.3.3 Filters
To prevent drt enterng the gas system, a flter s ftted to each
cylnder yoke and ppelne nlet
3.3.4 Gas Inlet Block
Each ndvdual cylnder or ppelne supply, s routed through
a separate gas block Each gas block has an ntegral hgh
pressure gauge tappng for drect mountng of a pressure
gauge, and a non-return valve to prevent back flow of gas
In addton, cylnder gas blocks have
(a) A daphragm pressure regulator to reduce the pressure of
the compressed gas supply, and
(b) A pressure relef valve, factory set to 650-700 kPa (95-102
ps) Ths prevents pressure buld up under the daphragm
should any leakage develop across the reducng valve seat
3.3.5 Secondary Pressure Regulator
The secondary regulators for oxygen and ntrous oxde
enhance the performance of the mechancal AHD system
Secondary regulaton also stablses the output from the
flowmeters
