5.3 Absorber
AUTION
1 Follow approprate manual handlng gudelnes when
lftng
Always support the weght of the absorber under the
manfold block
Do not lft the absorber by grppng any of the
components attached to the manfold block
5.3.1 Mounting the absorber
1 Set all the brakes on the anaesthetc machne castors to
On
2 Poston the absorber (1) at the sde of the machne
AUTION
heck that the Oxygen Sensor (2) s not n contact wth the
edge of the machne worksurface (3)
3 Ft the two screws (4) and tghten to secure the absorber to
the sde of the machne
5.3.2 Hose and cable connections
5.3.2.1 Patient Valve Block (1)
1 onnect the Exhaust gas outlet (2) to the anaesthetc gas
scavenge system Y-pece Refer to secton 57
2 onnect the drve gas outlet (3) to the nlet connector (4) at
the rear of the absorber
5.3.2.2 Patient Pressure Monitor
onnect the outlet (5) at the rear of the absorber, to the
connector (6) adacent to the patent valve block, usng the
tubng suppled wth the machne
1 Push-ft, self-sealng connector on absorber (5)
a) Push n the tube as far as possble
b) Do not use excessve force
c) The connector end pece wll also move nwards
d) Pull the tube carefully outwards The end pece wll be
pulled outwards to the ‘locked’ poston
