3.9 Electrical Power Supply
WARNIN
1 The three auxlary power supply sockets (1) are ntended
to supply power only to equpment that forms part of the
Medcal Electrcal (ME) system (see secton 392)
2 Use of a multple socket-outlet or an extenson cord
connected to the auxlary sockets on the machne s
prohbted
3.9.1 Mains Power Supply
The Prma 460 has a centralsed power supply that supples the
machne, the ventlator, dsplay, and absorber and sprometer
systems
NOTE
1 The anaesthetc system swtch (2) controls the electrcal
supply and must be n the ‘On’ poston for normal operaton
of the anaesthetc machne
2 Fresh gas and auxlary gas outlets wll contnue to operate
durng an electrcal mans supply falure
Power Supply Operaton
Always use a mans power supply outlet socket that can be easly
accessed
To solate the machne from the mans power supply, dsconnect
the mans cable from the mans power outlet
Power s fed to the machne va the non-detachable mans cable
(3), to the rear upper panel

3.9.2 Auxiliary Power Supply Sockets
AUTION
The requrements of IE 60601-1 apply to any devce connected
to the three auxlary sockets (1)
Users must be aware of the rsks of ncreased leakage currents
when equpment s connected to the auxlary sockets
If any devce powered by the auxlary sockets malfunctons,
check f the crcut breaker has trpped
NOTE
1 The user must ensure that the total sum of leakage currents
from addtonal equpment plugged nto the three auxlary
sockets (1), plus the leakage current from the machne,
does not exceed the values specfed n any relevant natonal
standards that may apply n the country where the machne
s n use
