6313 Fresh Gas Supply Hose Connections
onnecton to Absorber
The fresh gas hose (1) suppled wth the machne has a Penlon
connector for fttng to the nlet at the rear of the absorber
onnecton to the Fresh as Outlet
The hose has a 22 mm taper for connecton to the fresh gas
outlet of the anaesthetc machne
as outlet (2) at the rear of the machne (selectable circuit
gas outlet system - see section 3.8).
The rear outlet is selected using the switch (3) on the
front of the machine.
as outlet (4) at the front of the machne (sngle gas outlet
system).
Leak Test
Attach a sde branch connector to the machne fresh gas
outlet (2 or 4)
onnect the sde branch tube to a sphygmomanometer
1 Turn on a flow of 150 ml/mn of oxygen Block the open
port of the connector wth a fnger
The pressure n the low pressure gas system wll rse and
be dsplayed on the sphygmomanometer
2 heck that the pressure rses to at least 75 cmHO
Release the fnger seal mmedately the pressure s
reached
Ths test should be performed
1 Wth all vaporzers ‘off’ and solated
2 Wth each vaporzer n turn set to 1%
6.3.1.4 Leak Test - System with Patient Circuit
NOTE
The Prma 460 must be ftted wth a patent crcut complyng
wth approved desgn parameters, at the selecton of the
qualfed practtoner
The patent crcut components do not consttute part of the
machne but connectons between the machne and breathng
system should be verfed as follows
Procedure
1 Fresh gas supply - see secton 6313
onnect the hose to the fresh gas nlet at the rear of the
absorber
2 Ft a patent crcut to the nspratory connector (1) and
expratory connector (2) on the absorber
Ft a breathng bag to the bag arm connector (3)
3 Set the bag/ventlator swtch (4) on the absorber to ‘Bag’
4 lose the adustable pressure lmtng (APL) valve (5), and
occlude the patent connecton port on the patent crcut
