Sample CFC tap changer
Comparator 2 is introduced to compare V1 with the minimum voltage and block tap up commands if the tap
changer loses the bus voltage. Comparator 3 blocks tap up commands from the tap changer if the transformer
bus voltage exceeds the maximum acceptable value.
The application logic can be configured to control the line end voltage. In this instance, signals 2580
Vmeas =
Vthr
, 2581
Vmeas > Vthr
and 2582
Vmeas < Vthr
can be transmitted from the line end controller via
IEC 61850 "GOOSE". Comparators 2 and 3 ensure that the local bus voltage is within acceptable limits.
Tap up/down commands can be configured in the matrix to control the binary outputs directly. In order to
avoid the possibility of issuing duplicate or opposite commands to the tap change mechanism, the existing tap
change controller or voltage regulator should be blocked in the application with the 7SC80 tap changer.
