Note
Signal polarity for the electrical frequency (ω
s
)
The electrical polarity is uncertain for the electrical frequency (ω
s
) in the braking quadrants (II
and IV), where the slip opposes the rotational speed, when the speed magnitude approaches the
slip magnitude. The sign will match that of the slip rather than the sign of the rotor speed, when
the slip magnitude is greater than the rotor speed. This is due to the relationship between slip
and torque.
