6.19 Options for Multiple Conguration Files
The drive can operate with multiple motors that may vary in size. The drive uses multiple
parameter conguration les to accomplish multiple motor operation. There is one master
conguration le that is always named current cfg. The slave les are stored on the
CompactFlash card in a subfolder of the 'CfgFiles' conguration folder named 'SubCfgs'. The
slave les can have any legal name conforming to the "xxxxxxxx.yyy" le naming convention.
File extension for slave conguration les
The le extension of slave conguration les is always ‘.sfg’. You cannot add or change the le
extension for the slave conguration les through the menus. Choose 8 characters only for the
le name.
Press [ENTER] to save the parameters as they exist in memory to a new conguration le name.
This le will be stored to the CompactFlash card in the ‘SubCfgs’ subdirectory. This function does
not make this conguration le the active conguration le. It uses the current data in memory
to create a new slave conguration le. Any parameter that is saved to a slave conguration le is
identiable by the small ‘s’ adjacent to the parameter ID number if it has not been changed from
the default setting, or a ‘$’ if it has been changed from the default setting, for example (s9586)
or ($9586).
Creating conguration les
You can create conguration les at runtime in the drive’s memory and then store them to the
CompactFlash card.
Create slave les via the keypad menus. To do so, set the slave parameters as desired and write
them to the CompactFlash card, see Table Slave Setup and Conguration Parameters.
You may set up to 8 SOP ags to point to a conguration le. Use the menus to map each SOP
ag to a corresponding conguration le. Once mapped, use the SOP ags to activate the SOP
for a particular motor.
Menu Item Descriptions
Multiple cong les Use this pick list to switch slave conguration les.
Disable this item by setting it to "OFF". No other multiple conguration
le menus will be displayed.
Enable this item by setting any one of the SOP ags to true. The cor‐
responding conguration le will become active.
Show active cong le Use this function to display the current active conguration le.
Only one conguration le can be active at one time.
If the correct conguration le is not displayed, check the SOP le for
accuracy. Check the ‘Setup SOP conguration ags menu' to be sure
the correct le is mapped to the SOP ag.
