This appendix contains guidelines for troubleshooting general installation and
connection errors as well as procedures to reset the DOS-A50 factory default
settings and Microsoft
®
Response Point™ Administrator password.
5.1 Common Issues
Why doesn't Administrator run on my computer?
An upgrade to the system software may be required. See System Require-
ments on page 28.
An upgraded version of Microsoft Response Point phone system software
Administrator may also be required.
Why can't I log on to my organization's DOS-A50?
If a security certificate was successfully downloaded and confirmed, but prob-
lems are still experienced logging on to the DOS-A50, there may be a number
of reasons, including hardware or software problems.
Try the following solutions:
1. Check that the DOS-A50 LCD displays SERVICE READY.
2. Log on again to see if the error has cleared.
3. Restart the computer on which Administrator is running, and log on again.
4. Install Administrator on another computer and try logging on again.
5. Call the customer support service for the DOS-A50.
Why did I lose connection to the DOS-A50?
If Administrator was connected to the DOS-A50, and then the connection was
lost, the problem may be one of the following:
1. Check that the DOS-A50 LCD displays SERVICE READY.
