Appendix A
164 Common Issues
2. The computer running the Administrator or the DOS-A50 is no longer con-
nected to the network, and requires reconnection.
3. The network is down or communication is somehow being blocked. Try
restarting the network.
4. The DOS-A50 is not responding, and it probably needs to be restarted.
Why can't I see the Syspine IP Phone on the Phone System page that I
just configured?
If the phone is securely plugged in to both an outlet and the LAN, try reinitializ-
ing the phone so that it appears on the Phone System page. Step through the
Configure Phone wizard, changing nothing, and click Finish at the end.
I can see the ATA1 module on the Module Configuration URL but I still
can't receive or place any calls. What's wrong?
This condition may occur if the ATA module ports are not connected to the
voice service or are set to block outgoing calls. Check these possible issues
and resolutions in the following order:
1. Check the cable connections to the back of the DOS-A50. Confirm that the
ATA module status light is green and that the relevant phone line connec-
tion light is lit.
2. Using the Administrator, check the port connection status is connected to a
voice service.
3. Use the Edit Voice Service button to check that outbound calls are not
restricted.
The DOS-A50 is unavailable or is not responding. What's wrong?
This condition occurs when there is a connectivity issue between the computer
on which Administrator is running and the DOS-A50. Check these possible
issues and resolutions in the following order:
1. Make sure that the computer on which Administrator is running is physically
connected to the LAN.
2. Check that the software on the computer running Administrator can access
the network (for example, connect to the Internet or access some other net-
work resource such as file share or printer).
3. If network resources are unavailable, check that the network is operating
for other computers.
