4. If the network is working, reboot the computer with Administrator on it and
try to connect to the network again.
5. If still unable to connect to the DOS-A50, make sure that the DOS-A50 is
connected, plugged in, and then restart it. Remember that while restarting
the DOS-A50, the phone system can’t receive or place calls, and existing
calls may be dropped.
I can hear background noise on my IP Phone line. What should I do?
This condition can occur when there is a connectivity issue between the IP
Phone and the DOS-A50 or the DOS-A50 and the phone line. Check these
possible issues and resolutions in the following order:
1. Check the LAN connections on the back of the IP Phone and the connec-
tion between the handset and the IP Phone.
2. Check the cable connections to the back of the DOS-A50. Confirm that the
ATA module status light is green and that the relevant phone line connec-
tion light is lit.
3. Call the phone line service provider to make sure there are no external
problems.
Why can't our phone users add contacts through their Assistant?
This condition may occur when the base unit storage space is at full capacity
for Response Point files. In Administrator, go to the Base Unit page, and con-
firm that more than 75 MB of storage space is still available.
To ensure that the minimum storage space is always available for Response
Point files, the base unit deletes Response Point files if they exceed the mini-
mum of required free space. If so, these files are deleted in the following order:
1. All files in the temporary folder on the base unit.
2. All personal contacts.
3. All voicemail older than 15 days.
Why can't I record my voice prompts using the text-to-speech (TTS) pro-
gram that I've chosen in Windows
®

Response Point automatically uses Microsoft
®
English Text-to-Speech Engine
to record sound files. If this text-to-speech program is not available, Response
Point chooses another Microsoft TTS program that comes with the operating
system, regardless of which TTS program is manually specified in Windows.
