RemovingtheFrontSteeringFork
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Blockthewheelswithchockstopreventthemachinefrommoving.
3.Removethefrontwheel;refertoRemovingtheWheel(page6–14).

thetierodendtothefrontsteeringfork.
5.Carefullyprytherodendfromthesteeringforkwithaballjointpicklefork.
6.Removethewheelmotorassemblyfromthesteeringforkassemblyas
follows:
A.Removethe2bolts(item22inFigure271)thatsecurethebulkhead
brackettothesteeringforkassembly,andremovethebulkheadbracket.
B.Removethe4bolts(item23inFigure271)thatsecurethewheelmotor
tothesteeringfork.Slidethewheelmotorassembly(withthewheelhub
andhydrauliclinesattached)fromthesteeringfork.Carefully,position
thewheelmotorawayfromthesteeringforkandsupportthewheelmotor.
Donotallowthewheelmotortohangfromthehydrauliclines.
7.Supportthesteeringforktopreventitfromfalling.
CAUTION
Theweightofthesteeringforkassemblyisapproximately23kg
(50lb).
Supportthesteeringforkassemblywhenremovingittopreventit
fromfallingandcausingpersonalinjury.
