Note: For engines with two-piece
crankshaft, use one support
(94322A) and one support (94322)
for the middle crosshead. For
engines with one-piece crankshaft,
use the two supports (94322A) for
each crosshead.
31) Apply lubricating oil SAE30 to the
threads and surfaces that touch on the
four bolts (4).
32) Attach the applicable supports (94322 /
94322A) to the column.
33) Torque the four bolts (4) to 150 Nm.
34) Operate carefully the chain block (H5,
Fig. 8) and the two chain blocks (H3,
H8) to lower the crosshead on to the
supports (94322A).
35) Tighten the special screws (2).
Note: Make sure that the primary load
stays on the chain of the chain
block (H5).
36) Operate the chain blocks (H3, H8) to lift
the crosshead.
Note: During step 37), slowly move the
connecting rod to the exhaust
side.
37) Put the wooden chock (2, Fig. 9) in
position as shown
38) Gradually loosen the manual
ratchet (H1). At the same time, keep
tension on the chain of the manual
ratchet (H6).
39) Continue with the step 40) until the
connecting rod (1) touches the wooden
chock (2).
40) Remove the manual ratchets (H1, H6).
41) Remove the supports (94322A, Fig.10)
as follows:
a) Remove the two special
screws (2).
b) Gradually loosen the four
bolts (1).
c) Use approved equipment or
sufficient personnel to remove the
supports (94322 / 94322A) from
the column.
