The DDCS protocol is used in the communication between
• drives in a master/follower configuration (see page
34),
• the drive and an external controller such as the
AC 800M (see page 42), or
• the drive (or more precisely, an inverter unit) and the
supply unit of the drive system (see page 45).
All of the above utilize a fiber optic link which also requires
an FDCO module (typically with ZCU control units) or an
RDCO module (with BCU control units). Master/follower
and external controller communication can also be
implemented through shielded twisted-pair cable connected
to the XD2D connector of the drive.
This group also contains parameters for drive-to-drive
(D2D) communication supervision.
