The DDCS protocol is used in the communication between
drives in a master/follower configuration (see page
34),
the drive and an external controller such as the
AC 800M (see page 42), or
the drive (or more precisely, an inverter unit) and the
supply unit of the drive system (see page 45).
All of the above utilize a fiber optic link which also requires
an FDCO module (typically with ZCU control units) or an
RDCO module (with BCU control units). Master/follower
and external controller communication can also be
implemented through shielded twisted-pair cable connected
to the XD2D connector of the drive.
This group also contains parameters for drive-to-drive
(D2D) communication supervision.
