Figure 132: Stop request
Messages shown for the driver about stop request can be configured for automatically closing after an
interval of time, or to be manually closed by the driver (hitting “Dismiss” button). The configuration can be
modified as specified in paragraph 9.9.9. Anyway the message is automatically dismissed if the bus
equipment notifies that the stop is requested no more.
The notification that the stop was requested is also broadcasted to other bus equipment, as described in
paragraph 11.7.1.
The system can also be configured in order to provide an audio feedback about the stop request, exploiting
both built-in TTS system or external voice announce equipment. Please refer to [1] for further details about
system configuration for having audio feedback for stop requests.
Driver messages (and/or audio feedback) are provided only once per stop, meaning that if the stop is
requested several times along the path then messages are not repeated. The only exception about that is
the request for a wheelchair stop after a normal stop request: in this case the message for the driver is
updated for notifying that the type of the requested stop has been changed (anyway the audio feedback to
passengers is only provided only once).
Driver messages (and/or audio feedback) are provided only if the service is not idling, that is only if a trip has
been selected (in “Next stop” mode) and/or a destination, or P/R message or info message has been
selected (in both “Next stop” and “Route/destination” modes).
If driver messages about stop request have been dismissed (by the driver or automatically) a reminder about
the stop request is shown in both the trip (icon next to current stop name) or manual navigation screens (icon
next to current destination), as shown in Figure 133.

The reminder icon includes a wheelchair if the stop was requested for wheelchairs.
