2.2.1.4. Using the Knobs (Example)
How to Set the Heading Bug (HDG)
1. From the Home state (at least 10 seconds since last using the Right Knob),
press the right control knob once to select HDG for editing. The control knob
label (HDG), the Heading Bug, and the Selected Heading eld will all turn
magenta (Figure 2-4).
2. Rotate the control knob to the desired heading value, shown both by the
position of the Heading Bug and the numeric value in the Selected Heading
eld (Figure 2-5).
3. After 10 seconds of inaction, the knob reverts to its Home state (HDG),
and the Heading Bug and Selected Heading eld value are shown in cyan
(inactive) (Figure 2-6).
2.2.2. Navigation Source Select Buttons
The three buttons on the bottom of the EFD1000 PFD allow the pilot to select the
navigation source for the CDI and Bearing Pointers (Figure 2-7). See Section 4.3 for
detailed information on the CDI and Bearing Pointers.
