8. Maintenance
8.4 Lamp replacement
Description
The projector lamp must be replaced at the end of its lifetime. When the end of lifetime comes near, a warning dialog is displayed.
The time when it pops up for the first time can be set.
At the end of the lamp lifetime we generally observe considerably reduced light output (inherent to lamp aging) and lamp startup
failures. In the HB version and inherent to its technology another phenomenon can be lamp crack, due to which glass particles
can come off. In that case it is required to remove the failing lamp, vacuum clean the lamp area in the projector to remove all glass
particles and install the new lamp.
WARNING: The lamp removal and lamp installation procedures may only be performed by Barco trained and
qualified service technicians.
WARNING: Risk of burns: make sure the projector is fully cooled down (> 15 minutes) before starting the
lamp removal or installation procedure.
WARNING: Risk of electrical shock: make sure the projector is switched off, powered down and that the
power cord is unplugged from the projector before starting the lamp removal or installation procedure.
CAUTION: Risk of explosion: the lamp contains gas under pressure. Ha
ndle it with extreme care.
