11.1 Description of the adjustable parameter
11.1.1 Controller
11.1.1.1 System Setting Parameters
Parameters Description
IP address The IP address with which the AST40 sequence controller
can be reached on the network.
IP address display The IP address with which the AST40 sequence controller
reaches the display.
Net mask It names the network segment in which the AST40
sequence controller is located.
Gateway The IP address of the gateway for the network segment in
which the AST40 sequence controller is located.
Language The language in which both the web-based user interface
and the user interface for the AST40 sequence controller
are displayed.
Units of torque The unit of torque which is used to display screwdriving
results and torque value settings.
Available units are:
• N·m
• N·cm
• ft·lb.
• In·lb.
• kg·cm
• kg·cm
Main direction of rotation The main direction of rotation specifies which direction is
used for the screwdriver operation. Main direction of
rotation right means that all the screwdriving samples
which drive screws work clockwise and all screwdriving
samples which undo screws work anti-clockwise.
Rotation speed reduction If the speed reduction feature is active, in the torque
screwdriving stages, in which there is no speed transition,
the speed is reduced automatically when 80% of the target
torque is reached.
This provides a higher shut-off accuracy.
Beeper
Specifies under which conditions a signal tone is
emitted after screwdriving is completed.
Print string The printed text indicates which values are to be printed
(see 13.4
Print output). The print output is activated by
the command "Print" during the screwdriving process.
Results of NOK screwdriving processes are always printed
out.
Process display The process information in the display can be selected in
such a way that only the values of one measuring system
or the values of all measuring system will be displayed.
Fieldbus available Specifies whether a fieldbus module is available. The
setting "Yes" only has changed if the AST40 sequence
controller is equipped with a fieldbus system and if this
fieldbus system was de-installed. If the setting is not
changed to "No" in this case, there will be an error
message for every AST40 restart stating that no fieldbus
module was found.

Activates the loop control via the I/O interface, if a fieldbus
module is installed.
