M300 and M300+ series – VG3.0
When a parameter is alarming, the parameter box of the BedView page and the entire parameter area of
the viewport of the alarming bedside monitor flashes in the color representing the alarm priority (red for
high, yellow for medium, or cyan for low).
When multiple alarm conditions occur simultaneously, the parameter boxes flash for all alarming
parameters. The alarm condition with the highest priority determines which audio alarm signal is
generated, how the parameter box appears, and what alarm message appears in the header bar.
When multiple alarm conditions of equal priority occur simultaneously for any given bedside monitor or
M300, the ICS displays and annunciates the most recent alarm condition on the ICS Main screen.
During an alarm, the ICS provides both audio and visual alarm signals for all M300 and bedside monitors
in the assigned local monitoring units.
M300 alarm processing
The M300 provides local alarm annunciation as an activated/deactivated function, regardless of alarm
priority (high, medium, or low). The user may choose to enable or disable parameter alarms on an
individual basis or for all parameters together (All alarms on/off).
For a description of special alarm behaviors, see "Pausing alarms for the M300 from a remote network
device" on page 127.
NOTE
The ICS can only control the alarms for beds in the same monitoring unit(s) as the ICS.
CAUTION
Upon startup and after a patient discharge, the M300 alarms will not be active until a numeric value has
been received for the corresponding parameter.
NOTE
In the event of a power loss at the ICS, M300 alarm settings are retained by the M300 unit. When power
is restored to the ICS, the M300 communicates the current alarm settings back to the ICS.
NOTE
The M300 can retain alarm settings for approximately 80 hours after the unit powers down due to deplet-
ed battery.
While the battery is attached to the M300+, alarm settings and current patient data remain intact for ap-
proximately 80 hours after the unit powers down due to a depleted battery.
CAUTION
Alarm settings for the M300 will not be retained upon removal of the internal battery.
