Instructions for use – Infinity
®
M300 and M300+ series – VG3.0 25
Cybersecurity
To enhance network and device security, restrict physical access to the following based on job function
and classification:
– Infinity network
– Monitoring devices
– Accessories
In addition, physical access must also be restricted to:
– Unused Ethernet ports
– Unused USB ports
– Unused serial ports
Modifications to the Infinity network after initial installation could result in degraded performance and/or
security risks. Contact DrägerService or specialized service personnel to ensure optimal network per-
formance for any planned network modification. Modifications to network settings could degrade net-
work performance and could result in patient harm due to delayed assessment or intervention.
Passwords
Dräger recommends using custom passwords that are securely stored.
If passwords are compromised, the user can change all passwords by using the factory default.
Password creation must include the following:
– A minimum of 8 characters
– A maximum of 14 characters
The creation of strong passwords contain any of the following:
– Uppercase characters
– Lowercase characters
– Numbers
– Special characters
Examples of weak passwords include strings such as:
– Common names such as hospital names
– Sequential numbers
– “password” or “welcome”
NOTE
M300/M300+ is an embedded code device that verifies sensitive data integrity (i.e., code space, stored
configuration data, and DRAM content) at startup and during operation. If the stored settings are corrupt,
both audible and visual notifications alert the user that factory default settings are being restored, as the
device assumes that DRAM has failed.
