Local ICS
A local ICS is the primary display for all admitted M300s. The ICS also provides the primary alarm signals
for any network issues related to recorders.
The ICS makes its M300 patients available to the Infinity network for remote viewing by any remote ICS
or bedside monitor.
Remote ICS
From a remote ICS, an M300 is viewed as any other bedside.
M300
For M300 data to appear at the ICS, the patient must first be admitted at the ICS. Once admitted and
communicating with the ICS, monitoring settings can be customized.
Patient data are no longer displayed at the ICS under the following conditions:
After a patient discharge
When the battery charge is depleted
During a network interruption
An Offline message appears at the M300, and a Offline message appears when communication to the
ICS is interrupted. A Discharged message appears at the ICS when a patient is discharged.
The M300 uses a power-save mode that automatically shuts off the M300 display if there is no user
interaction between 1 and 5 minutes, as defined by the user in System setup > Biomed > Configure
telemetry > Telemetry settings (see page 205). Power-save mode does not interrupt monitoring.
Parameters, waveforms, alarms, and other information continue to be monitored and displayed at the ICS
even though the M300 screen appears blank.
CAUTION
The loss of remote view of an M300 at a bedside monitor could result in alarms not being viewed by the
intended caregiver while at that bedside. The ICS is intended to be the primary alarm source for the
M300 and should always be used as the primary reference for caregivers to monitor patients on the
M300.
