Operating concept
M300 power
The Infinity M300 has a rechargeable battery. When the M300 screen is active, a battery symbol ( )
displays to indicate the remaining battery power. When the M300 is in power-save mode, the LED can be
used to identify the status of the battery. Battery life is approximately 12 months.

For information on the indications of the battery status LED and charging the M300 battery, see "Battery
status LED" on page 94.
Communication between an M300 and the ICS
When an M300 patient is admitted at the ICS (see "Admitting a patient" on page 106), the M300 relays the
acquired waveforms, parameters, and alarms to the ICS for primary display and alarm announcement.
Volume control
The M300 has its own volume control, which allows you to change the M300 alarm volume, provided that
function has been activated at the ICS (see "Alarm volume [%]" onpage205).
Note that, if communication between the M300 and the ICS is interrupted, you will be unable to adjust the
volume below 10 %.
The ICS also broadcasts the patient data across the Infinity network. The ICS identifies an M300 with the
symbol, which appears in the viewport header bar, next to the bed label.
CAUTION
Contact your technical personnel when the M300 battery requires replacing.
