Operating concept
Enabling standby mode
The letters appearing in parentheses (below) refer to the diagram of the Standby/ Discharge page.You
can only initiate standby mode for an M300 from the ICS.
To enable standby mode
1 Select the parameter box of the M300 patient you want to place into standby mode, or select the pa-
tient name or bed label from the Main screen viewport (if using this method, skip the next step).
2 Select the Admit/Standby button (E) on the menu bar of the BedView to display the Admit/Standby
dialog window.
3 Select the Standby/ Discharge tab (A).
4 Select the On button (B).
5 Select the reason for standby from the selection list (I). Some of the available selections include the
following:
Note, however, that this list can be edited by selecting the Edit button within the Biomed > Configure
central > General settings > Standby list.
6 Select the duration you wish to place the patient in standby from the event duration list (D). The fol-
lowing selections are available:
5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour (default), 2 hours, 3 hours
7 Select the Apply button (F) to place the patient in standby.
Canceling standby mode
You can cancel standby mode for an M300 from the ICS and the M300.
Monitoring resumes and alarms are announced immediately for any patient coming out of standby.
