Operating concept
Communicating with the Infinity network
The Infinity network allows data exchange among Infinity bedside monitors, M300, and the ICS. The
Infinity network supports wired and wireless devices.
For detailed information about the configuration, installation and operation of devices in the
Infinity
network, contact DrägerService or specialized service personnel.
Offline condition notification
If an offline condition occurs where the connection to the Infinity CentralStation (or the network) is lost
while a patient is admitted on the M300, a single audible tone notification sounds within 25 seconds (+/-
2 seconds) in Legacy mode and 40 seconds in Secure mode, to indicate the offline condition at the M300.
In addition, a message displays in the local offline message area until the condition is cleared.
The Infinity M300 will also display a local offline message when communication is interrupted between the
Infinity CentralStation and the M300.
During an offline condition, the alarms will annunciate at maximum volume at the M300. Pausing the audio
or the alarm will not affect the offline single tone notification.
Communicating with the Infinity network has the following benefits:
Patient data are sent to connected devices for remote viewing of that data at various locations.
The alarm status of patients is reported to connected devices and other configured CentralStations.
Reports and strip recordings can be requested from the ICS for multiple patients at one location.
A monitor can be controlled remotely from any ICS provided the remote control function is enabled and
the patient is within an assigned monitoring unit (see "ICS and M300 online help" on page 84).
Any monitor on the Infinity network can be configured to be viewed or controlled by the ICS.
A patient’s demographic data can be imported via the Infinity network by using the Get data function
(see page 109).
WARNING
Loss of communication between the ICS and a monitor is possible.
If the ICS loses communication with the Infinity Network, an audio alarm signal sounds at the ICS
and displays a message indicating that the bedsides are offline. The bedside monitor displays a
message indicating an offline condition.
Dräger recommends using the bedside monitor for primary diagnosis and the ICS for patient
viewing.
For an M300, the ICS broadcasts an audio alarm signal and displays a message indicating an
offline condition. The M300 displays a message indicating an offline condition.
NOTE
For information regarding hazards associated with non-Dräger wireless components, refer to the manu-
facturer’s documentation.
