Separate defrost start according to the two temperature zones using the internal defrost timer
Usually, it is sufficient if the defrost is started simultaneously for both zones. A separate defrost for each zone
can be performed if an application requires this. Further parameters are available for this.
In the E*LDS system, defrost time means the time when defrosting starts. In order to activate separate defrost
times for the two temperature zones the Abtauuhrparametermustbesetto“INT”(menu3-2-a).The
parametersavailableforthisfunction,“Sicherheitszeit”and“Abtau 1..14”are identical to those for the first zone
and can be set as usual.
End of the defrosting
The defrosting can be ended in 3 ways:
By reaching the defrost end temperature of the respective evaporator sensor irrespective of the specified
controller type
By expiry of the safe defrost time
By a command (manual or pack controller) via CAN bus
Alarm suppression of the sensor fault alarm during the defrost
During a defrost, the evaporator sensors in particular can become do hot that their temperature is outside the
limits of the temperature detection of the case controller. The sensor fault alarm is suppressed during the
defrostinordertopreventfalsealarms(seealsochapterAlarm for open cold room door).
Defrost on demand(controller types UA 131 E, UR 141 NE, UR 141 TE)
The defrost on demand means that depending on the melting time of a previous defrost it is decided whether a
requested defrost is initiated or skipped. The defrost on demand is activated if the counting speed is not set
equal to 0; it is deactivated if the counting rate is set to 0.
A defrost counter is set to 6 at the beginning of a defrost and then counted down depending on the set counting
ratewhilethepilotcaseevaporatorsensorisintherangebetween-3°Cand+3°C.
If the counting rate is set low, the defrost on demand counter will count down to 1 faster. This means that all
scheduled defrosts are also actually performed. If the counting rate is high, more defrosts will
beskipped(max.5defrosts).
The simultaneous use of separate defrost zones and the master/slave function is not really useful!
Nevertheless, if these functions are used together, it should be noted that this can result in very long
defrost phases depending on the parametrisation!
