Start of the defrosting
The defrosting can be initiated in 4 ways:
Using the internal clock(exceptUK100EorKR160E)
Using an external week timerviadigitalinputD11/D12(factorysetting).
The defrost is activated via digital input 1(terminals D11/D12), its function can be configured using the Inv.
D1 parameter in menu 6-2-4. The following cases are possible:
External defrost (master/slave mode not active):
The defrost signal for the external defrost must be present for as long as the maximum duration of the
defrost. The defrosting is also finished as soon as the external request is removed. A defrost termination
while the defrost signal is present is always possible via the evaporator sensors (if the defrost termination
temperature is exceeded).
External defrost in master/slave mode:
The defrost signal may only be present for a short time, as it only takes over the function here for starting
thedefrost.ThesafedefrosttimeisrealisedusingtheinternalSicherheitszeit parameter. The external
signal must always be shorter than the internal safe defrost time.
Using a command via the CAN bus (manual or higher level control, e.g. Combi Gateway)
In all cases, it is checked whether the conditions for defrosting are met before defrosting is initiated. The
conditions are:
evaporator temperature < defrost termination temperature
In the case of defrost on demand: Defrost counter = 1
There is no Sensor fault EEV1/2oremerg.cut-out SH Z1/2 alarm.
Using a command from the pack controller via the CAN bus
Thedefrost(hotgasdefrost)isinitiatedwithoutcheckingconditions.
A further defrost cannot be started until the safe defrost time (defrost parameters) has elapsed,
even if the defrost has already been terminated via the evaporator temperatures. If possible, the
defrost time should not be between 02:00 and 03:00 in order to avoid problems with missing or
doubled defrost during the changeover between summer and winter time.
Warning about dangerous electrical voltage!
Danger of electric shock! BEFOREconnectinganddisconnecting,itmustbecheckedthatno
voltage is presentatthe230VACdigitalinputs!
The controller and connected live parts are still energised!
The defrost is also prevented for the controller types UA 121 E, UA 131 E and UR 141 TE if the
following conditions are all met:
1.) A temperature alarm is pending and/or the alarm delay is set to 0 minutes.
2.) The evaporator temperature R1.1 and/or R1.3 is above the specified setpoint for the return air.
