Latency Configuration
Latency only should be set when inserting digital devices. Analog devices do not have appreciable
latency. Setting the latency properly will prevent comb filtering for the inserted effect. Consult the
inserted device’s documentation for its latency specifications.
To set the latency for an Insert:
Invert the polarity.
Set the mix to 50%.
Bypass the external digital effect or adjust any mix knob so you only hear the dry signal.
Adjust latency from 0 samples until the signal is silent or as quiet as possible.
Disengage the polarity invert.
When using an Eventide H9, set the insert latency to 109 samples.
Note
The H90 will automatically adjust to process audio in mono or stereo depending on the physical
input and output connections. Insert routing will sum or mult the signal accordingly.
When using Stereo I/O:
A mono insert at the end of the signal path will sum your output to dual mono.
A mono insert in parallel to the H90’s presets, the output will remain in stereo.
When using mono I/O:
A stereo insert will mult the signal path to stereo, but the H90’s presets will sum that signal back
to mono.
