MediaStore 5100 and 5000 series hardware reference
The MediaStore 5100and 5000 series is a network storage device that employs Serial-attached SCSI
(SAS) host bus adapters (HBA) to connect to a MediaDirector. The MediaStore 5100/5000 series is
based on a storage subsystem together with a set of plug-in modules.

About the MediaStore 5100 series
Using 12 Gb/s SAS connections and a MediaDirector 2252B or 2251B, up to four MediaStore 5100 series
can be connected together. A second MediaDirector can be added for Extended File Sharing.
The MediaStore 5100 series includes the following features:
24 disk drive capacity, all contained in a 2 RU chassis. The chassis houses three 6+2 RAID sets. All
drives install from the front of the chassis. All power supplies and I/O modules install from the rear.
Chassis with front panel Operators Panel, including clear status indicators and audible failure alarms.
Two hot swappable AC Power Cooling Modules (PCMs) with integral cooling fans.
Hard Disk Drive Carrier Modules and associated dummy carrier modules for blank drive slots.
Hot-swappable high-performance 300 GB, 600 GB, or 1.2 TB SAS hard disk drives.
12 Gb/s Serial-attached SCSI (SAS) connections.
NOTE: There are no user-serviceable parts on the MediaStore.
