Table 6: Resolving Possible Issues During Setup
Problem
Possible Cause
Suggested Action
Biopsy device
makes unusual
noises during test
mode.
The biopsy needle is not properly
connected to the device driver.
Properly attach the biopsy needle to the device
driver.
Make sure that the device driver is homed by
pressing the button on the Technologist
Display when prompted to do so. Make sure
that the needle gears are pushed all the way
forward before reinstalling the needle.
If this does not work, try a new needle.
If this does not work, try a new driver.

The biopsy needle is not properly
connected to the device driver.
Properly attach the biopsy needle to the device
driver.
With the biopsy needle removed, disconnect
and reconnect the cord on the device driver into
the receptacle on the console. Repeat 2 or 3 times
until the device driver is homed.
Make sure that the needle gears are pushed all
the way forward before reinstalling the needle.
If this does not work, try a new driver.
