Table 7: Resolving Possible Issues During a Procedure
Problem
Possible Cause
Suggested Action
“Device driver loss of
communication”
message
“Device driver error”
message
The biopsy needle is not properly
connected to the device driver.
If the biopsy needle is clean:
Remove the biopsy needle. Disconnect
and reconnect the cord on the device
driver into the receptacle on the console.
Make sure that the needle gears are
pushed all the way forward before
reinstalling the needle.
If this does not work, try a new driver.
If the biopsy needle is not clean:
Remove the biopsy device from the
patient and disassemble it (refer to
Conclude Tissue Acquisition on page 82).
Place the device driver on the console.
If cores are present, place the cap on the
tissue filter, and place the tissue filter in
formalin.
Make sure that the device driver is
homed by pressing the button on
the Technologist Display when
prompted to do so. Install a new needle.
Make sure the needle is properly
attached to the device driver.
If this does not work, try a new driver.
