Problem
Possible Cause
Suggested Action
Poor quality biopsy
cores or no cores.
The biopsy needle fitting is not
connected to the port on the suction
canister lid. The biopsy needle fitting is
not connected to the correct port on the
suction canister lid.
Connect the biopsy needle suction
fitting to the horizontal port marked
"PATIENT" on the suction canister lid.
Suction canister is cracked.
Reduced or no vacuum at the tip of the
biopsy needle cannula.
Replace the suction canister with a new
one.
Retain the biopsy needle. Record the lot
number and contact your local Hologic
representative.
Biopsy needle occlusion.
Retain the biopsy needle. Record the lot
number and contact your local Hologic
representative.
Retry with a new biopsy needle.
The tissue filter is occluded by blood.
Replace with a new tissue filter or retry
with a new biopsy needle.
The biopsy needle tubing is twisted.
Reposition the biopsy needle tubing.
Select Aspirate mode, Select Biopsy
mode, and retry the biopsy.
No image is acquired
for sample.
Thumbnail marked
with red chamber
letter.
Detector readout failure.
After tissue acquisition is complete,
select the chamber and reimage.
If this does not work:
Restart the detector.
Select the System Status icon on the
taskbar. Select System Diagnostics from
the pop-up menu.
Select the Restart Detector button.
Select the Back button.
Use the Reimage feature to capture an
image for the chamber that previously
failed.
