Preparation
The HP 54121T Digitizing Oscilloscop e consists of the HP 54121A Four Channel Test Set and
HP 54120B Digitizing Oscilloscop e Mainframe. See the HP 54121T manual for setting up the
HP 54121T.
1. Connect an HP-IB cable to the HP-IB connector on the rear panel of the oscilloscop e.
2. Connect the other end of the HP-IB cable to the built-in HP-IB connector or the HP-IB
card of the system controller.
3. Connect the prob e cable as follows:
a. Remove the shorting cap from the INPUT 3 terminal of the HP 54121A.
b. Attach a 20 dB attenuator to the INPUT 3 terminal.
c. Attach a SMA(m)-to-BNC(f ) adapter to the 20 dB attenuator.
d. Attach a BNC(m)-to-BNC(m) cable (less than 1.5 m) to the SMA-to-BNC adapter.
4. Remove 50 terminator from the PG1 TRIG OUT cable, remove shorting cap from the
TRIG terminal of the HP 54121A, then connect the cable to the TRIG terminal.

Conrm the HP-IB address settings of the HP 54120B. T
