HP 4089B (96-pin) SWM Installation (HP 4062UX Only)
This section provides HP 4089B SWM installation information and includes information on
unpacking, installing additional pin b oards, and connecting test xtures.
Unpacking
Warning
The HP 4089B weighs about 55 kg (121 lb) and is wrapped in vinyl, making it
difficult to lift and carry.Bevery careful when handling the HP 4089B SWM.
Remove the SWM from its shipping carton and check the cables and accessories against the
carton check list. If the shipment is incomplete or if anything is damaged, contact the nearest
HP Sales Oce.
When shipped from the factory, the SWM is wrapp ed in two separate sheets of vinyl. After
you remove the SWM from its carton, remove the outer vinyl sheet. Do not remove the
inner vinyl sheet from the SWM until you move the SWM to the installation site. Do not
remove the HP 16377A/B Personality Board or any additional pin b oards from their antistatic
envelop es until you are ready to install them.
Caution
Do not remove the SWM or its accessories from their protective co
vers in
any area b esides the installation site. Exp osure to dust and other airb orne
contaminants degrades insulation and reduces measurement accuracy.
Installing Additional Pin Boards
To install additional HP 16320D Pin Boards in y
our SWM, p erform the following pro cedure:
Caution
Install pin boards at the installation site only
.Wear rubb er gloves and a lint
free cloth cap and gown. Oil, perspiration, hair, brous dust, and dirt degrade
board insulation and reduce measurement accuracy.
1. Remove the protective vinyl cover from the SWM.
2. Remove the protective plate covering the measurement pins.
3. Loosen the hexhead screw at each corner of the b ottom panel using a hexhead wrenc
h, then
carefully lift the b ottom panel from the SWM.
4. Remove the required board struts and pin board control cables.
Caution
When removing pin b oard control cables, disconnect each connector from each
pin b oard separately.Do not remove a cable by disconnecting one end and
peeling o the cable all at once.
5. Remove additional pin b oards from their an
tistatic envelop es.
