8 Troubleshooting and System Tests
Troubleshooting preparation
The complexity of the system circuits requires that service technicians have a working knowledge of inverter power supply
theory. In addition to being technically qualified, technicians must perform all testing with safety in mind.
If questions or problems arise during servicing, call the Hypertherm Technical Services team listed in the front of this
manual.
Test equipment
Multimeter
IGBT tester (128883)
Troubleshooting procedures and sequence
When performing the troubleshooting procedures, refer to:
Safety and Compliance Manual (80669C) for detailed safety information.
Power Supply Component Replacement on page 165 or Torch Component Replacement on page 265.
Troubleshooting and System Tests on page 109.
Wiring Diagrams on page 315.
After the problem has been located and repaired, refer to Sequence of operation on page 112 to test the power supply
for proper operation.
