Chapter 7. Storage Migration Wizard 285
7.2 Migrating data using the Storage Migration Wizard
In this section, we describe how to migrate existing data on external storage systems using
the IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node built-in Storage Migration Wizard.
The Storage Migration Wizard on IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node is an easy to use
tool that is designed specifically for this scenario to guide you through the process and
describe the steps along the way.
7.2.1 Check the Windows 2008 host before the migration
Before starting the actual migration using the IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node
Migration Wizard, we check the host that currently has its disks located on an IBM DS4300
disk array. In this example, we use a Windows 2008 hosted compute node.
Figure 7-1 shows that the server has two disks (Disk 1 and Disk 2), which are currently
located on an IBM DS4300 disk array.
