13.7 Drive firmware upgrade
You can upgrade a drive by downloading and applying firmware updates by using the
command-line interface (CLI) only and it requires running one CLI command per drive.
The time required to perform drive upgrade varies depending on the number of drives to be
upgraded and the capacity of these drives. You need to plan your drive firmware upgrade task
accordingly. Verify all Supported Drive Types and Firmware Levels for IBM Flex System

13.7.1 Multi drive upgrade utility
An enhanced Multi Drive Upgrade Utility is available with the release of IBM Storwize Family
Software for Storwize V7000 V7.1. This improvement makes multiple drives firmware
upgrades with a single CLI command possible and with less upgrade time necessary. More
