Chapter 10. Volume mirroring and migration
This chapter presents a detailed description of the volume mirroring function and its
capabilities. This feature was originally developed as a part of the IBM SAN Volume Controller
(SVC) and is shared with IBM Flex System V7000 Storage Node. It provides an ability to
mirror data between storage pools in the same I/O group of the IBM Flex System V7000
Storage Node cluster. This capability can be used to protect critical data and increase
availability, as well as to copy volumes for others to use for development, testing, and other
application needs.
