NOTE: If you need to mount the switch in a recessed posion on either a two-post rack or a
four-post rack, you can use the 2-in.-recess front-mounng brackets provided in the separately
orderable four-post rack-mount kit.
NOTE: To ensure that the protecve earthing terminal is accessible through the opening in the
rear mounng-blade:
• Ensure that the rack is 27.5 in. (70 cm) through 30.5 in. (77.5 cm) deep if you are mounng
the switch ush with the rack front on four posts of a rack.
• Ensure that the rack is 29.5 in. (75 cm) through 32.5 in. (82.5 cm) deep if you will mount the
switch 2 in. recessed from the rack front.
NOTE: One person must be available to li the switch while another secures it to the rack.
CAUTION: If you are mounng mulple units on a rack, mount the heaviest unit at the
boom of the rack and mount the other units from the boom of the rack to the top in
decreasing order of the weight of the units.
To mount the switch on four posts of a rack:
1. Place the switch on a at, stable surface.
NOTE: The four-post rack-mount kit ships with the short front-mounng brackets aached to
the side mounng-rails. If you want to recess the switch in the rack, you must unscrew the
short front-mounng brackets from the side mounng-rails by using the
Phillips (+) screwdriver and aach the long front-mounng brackets to the side mounng-
rails.
2. Align the side mounng-rails along the side panels of the switch chassis. Align the two holes in the
rear of the side mounng-rails with the two holes on the rear of the side panels.
