General Maintenance 35
B. Units with no HELPING-HAND™ arm
NOTE: For units with a HELPING-HAND™ arm, go to page 30.
To clean the hopper of an E
XPERT™ that has no automated arm, apply the following procedure:
1. Park the EXPERTon safe level ground.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Using the Packer Control Selector switch on the control panel (see Figure 3-1), select the right-
hand side packer control station.
NOTE: This switch is found only on vehicles equipped with more than one packer control station.
4. If needed, disengage the speed-up system by turning OFF any of the two Speed-Up switches on
the control panel: Speed-Up ON/Speed-Up Auto (see Figure 3-2).
Both switches must be blue lighted.
5. If the truck is equipped with a chute, as in a co-mingle type unit, place it on the left-hand side of
the hopper.
NOTE: When a truck is equipped with a dual chute, the operator has to place both sections of the chute
on the left-hand side of the hopper. To know how to operate the chute, please refer to the
Operator’s Manual provided with the truck.
6. Raise the crusher panel fully using the Crusher Panel Up button on the packer control station
(see Figure 3-3).
Keep this button pressed until the crusher panel is completely raised.
NOTE: If your vehicle is equipped with an external deadman switch next to the packer control station
(see Figure 3-10), this switch must be pushed to enable the Crusher Panel Up button on the
packer control station.
