Store & Forward LiveU LU600 User Guide
Store & Forward
This chapter describes how to use the Store & Forward mode on the LU600 unit.
Introducing Store & Forward
The LU600 unit provides a Store & Forward (S&F) mode, which simultaneously stores high-
quality video locally on the unit, while uploading the stored video to the destination server
(LU2000 or cloud).
You can configure the S&F video quality, the target storage on the LU600 unit (internal or
SD card), the LU2000 server to which the video is uploaded and the prefix of the file name
that is stored and uploaded.
After the S&F file has been received on the LU2000 server, it can be downloaded locally,
played to an SDI interface, chunked (during the file’s forwarding phase), renamed or
deleted.
The LU600 encodes S&F files at up to 15Mbps video rate, and forwards S&F files at a
maximum bitrate of 50Mbps based on available bandwidth.
During a S&F session, the unit can store the file on one of two types of destinations:
• Internal Storage: The LU600 comes with internal storage of 16 GB, of which
approximately 12 GB can be used for S&F sessions.
• External Micro SD Card: The LU600 accepts micro SD cards of 4GB to 2TB
capacity. The micro SD card must be a Class 10/UHS-I from an established
manufacturer.
Live & Store
Live & Store mode is automatically enabled whenever an HEVC Pro card is installed in your
LU600, saving any incoming video locally on your LU600 while simultaneously transmitting
live. This feature ensures that you always have a hi-quality copy of your live stream saved,
allowing you to enter the FILES tab, and send the file directly to the MCR later in case of
congested cellular networks during the live event.
The Store & Forward settings mentioned in this chapter will also affect the location, quality
and encoding standard (H.264 or HEVC) of any Live & Store files saved.
