File Transfer (FTP) LiveU LU600 User Guide
File Transfer (FTP)
This chapter describes how to use the LU600 to transfer files from the field directly to a
Multi-Media Hub running on an LU2000 server.
Introduction
The LU600 enables you to transfer stored files to an LU2000. This feature can also be used
to transfer any other type of file, such as text files, documents and so on.
Please note that from version 7.5.1 onwards, File Transfer may also be initiated and
controlled remotely via LiveU Central.
Files can be transferred from the LU600 unit’s micro SD card or from a USB flash drive.
NOTE
The LU600 has internal storage of 16 GB that can be used for Store & Forward
sessions. You can also insert an SD card that can be used for Store & Forward
sessions as well.
The micro SD card capacity can be from 4GB to 2TB, and must be a Class
10/UHS-I SD card from an established manufacturer.
When formatting external media please note that the LU600 unit supports the
following file systems: FAT32, NTFS, exFAT and ext3/ext4. Also note that
FAT32 supports a file size of up to 4 GB and therefore is not recommended.
At the receiving end, files are stored on the LU2000 in the directory designated for this
purpose and are organized in folders according to the LU600 unit that sent them. Please
refer to the Managing MMH Files section in the LiveU Central User Guide for more
information.
Transferring Files
1 Select the channel to which you want to transfer the files, as described in the Selecting
a Channel section on page 26.
2 Make sure that the LU600 Home screen displays .
3 If the file to be transferred is on a USB Flash drive, then connect it to the side USB port
above the power connector on the LU600 unit or insert a micro SD card in the unit.
