DataBridge Operation
LiveU DataBridge Solution
LiveU’s DataBridge service enables transmission and reception of any kind of data from
diverse locations, while adapting to dynamic network conditions. This service can be used
for a variety of data connectivity solutions, such as for connecting a laptop in the field to a
control station.
The DataBridge provides WiFi hotspot or Ethernet-based internet access to any connected
device such as laptops, phones, or tablets, providing a high capacity, resilient internet link,
at up to 100Mbps.
The DataBridge is available as a dedicated hotspot unit based on the LU600 or as part of
the LU600 and LU200 video uplink units; enabling users to work with the existing Video and
File modes, or with one of the two DataBridge operational modes. The service supports 3
levels of connection: Cloud-based gateway, On-premise gateway, and direct connection
(when working in Multipath mode only).
DataBridge Operational Modes
The DataBridge can be used in one of two different operational modes, Multipath and
Gateway. These modes define connectivity and service strategies and are optimized to
ensure the best connectivity with minimal delay across different internet scenarios.
MultiPath
This is the default mode and should be used for more general internet applications such as
browsing the Web, talking on Skype etc.
In Multipath operational mode, the DataBridge unit functions without any specialized
Gateway and:
• Dynamically assigns any available network connection to the incoming requested
service
• Can potentially provide higher throughput per service
Gateway
Use this mode when most of your traffic is planned for IP Video applications, when you
intend working with a VPN service or want to use standard FTP applications.
