G-14 Postal Symbologies
• Important: Postal Symbologies must have a minimum pixels-per-element value of 4 to be decoded reliably
by the reader.
The reader must be configured to specific read range, field of view, and camera parameters before
decoding Postal Symbologies.
For optimal decode results, position the symbol as close to the center of the reader’s field of view as
possible.
When U.S. Post is enabled (<K460,1>), the reader will only decode POSTNET, PLANET, and
USPS4CB symbols.
• Important: POSTNET Status, PLANET Status, and USPS4CB Status are enabled by default. However, if
any of the three U.S. Post symbologies is set to disabled individually, symbols of that type will not be
decoded by the reader even when U.S. Post is enabled.
For example, if U.S. Post is enabled but POSTNET Status is disabled (<K460,1,0>), POSTNET
symbols will not be decoded by the reader.
See POSTNET Status, PLANET Status, and GS1 DataBar for more detail about U.S. Post
symbologies.
When Australia Post is enabled (<K460,2>), the reader will only decode Australia Post symbols.
When Japan Post is enabled (<K460,3>), the reader will only decode Japan Post symbols.
When Royal Mail is enabled (<K460,4>), the reader will only decode Royal Mail symbols.
