Client Function of CIP Message Com-
munications

Overview
The NX-series EtherNet/IP Units can send a CIP message to an external device to request a service
by specifying an internal object of the device which supports the server function of CIP message com-
munications.
This is called the client function of CIP message communications.
The NX-series EtherNet/IP Units execute CIP communications instructions in the user program and
send CIP messages.

such as the route path, as well as the service
code, the request path, and the service data.
