Subsection 03 (HULL)
der the splash deflector indicates the exact loca-
tion of the piece to cut out. Carry out the following
steps.
1. Remove splash deflector, refer to
BODY
sub-
section.
2. Using a drill bit 6 mm (1/4 in) in size MINIMUM,
drill a hole at each of the five corners of the
piece to cut out of the fixed deck as per follow-
ing illustration.

Failure
to drill holes as instructed
may lead
to cracks in the fixed deck.
3. Using a small thin cutting wheel (such as used
on a Dremel® rotary tool), make a precise clean
cut along the scribed line in the fixed deck.
NOTE: T
he cut should be made at an angle point-
ingint
owards the center of the piece to be cut.
This wi
ll prevent the piece from falling through the
hole on
installation and increase the contact area
for the
repair.
NOTICE
Do not cut hole opening larger than
etched line to prevent weakening of fixed deck
and to ensure proper sealing of splash deflec-
tor on installation.

4. Unscrew and discard both elastic stop nuts
holding the bow eyelet in place.

5. Pull bow eyelet to remove it from watercraft.
6. Clean any residue of silicone sealant on hull.

1. The installation is the reverse of the removal
procedure. However, pay attention to the fol-
lowing.

around eyelet

ting holes.
3. Install small washers and nylon washers on
bow eyelet and insert it through hull holes.
4. Inside hull, install rubber washers, large wash-
ers and NEW elastic stop nuts.
5. Tor
que nuts to 14.5 N•m (128 lbf•in).
