5.4.2 Protective field width
The width of the protective field must cover the width of the vehicle and the supplements
for the measurement error and the lack of ground clearance.
How to calculate the protective field width S
B
(see EN ISO 13855):
Calculate the protective field width S
B
using the formula:
S
B
=F
B
+ 2 × (Z
G
+ Z
R
+ Z
F
)
Where …
F
B
= Vehicle width
Z
G
= General safety supplement = 100 mm
Z
R
= Supplement for any reflection related measurement error of the S3000
Z
F
= Supplement for any lack of ground clearance of the vehicle
As a rule you will mount the S3000 in the middle of the vehicle . If this is not the case,
then you must define the protective field asymmetrically . (The CDS represents the fields
are they appear in the plan view of the safety laser scanner.) Ensure that there are supple-
ments on the right and left of the vehicle .
5.4.3 Height of the scan plane
Mount the S3000 such that the scan plane is at a maximum height of 200 mm!
In this way persons lying down will be reliably detected. Tilting the protective field so that
objects with a diameter of 200 mm are not detected, is not allowed. We recommend
aligning the scan plane at 150 mm.
