You can enter the rated battery voltage at the address 353 V bat. nom..
The duration of the load test is set at address 356 T load active.

NOTE
Note that the difference of the setting values V bat. crit. and V bat. nom. must be at least 200 mV.
If the difference is smaller, the indication 2152
BATTERY INVALID
is issued.
Depending on the test result, one of the indications 2152
BAT.CHARGE GOOD
, 2156
BAT.CHARGE LOW
or
2157
BATTERY EMPTY
is issued. The conditions for the individual indications and the associated LED display
are given in the following overview. The LED BAT can be found on the device front next to the RUN and
ERROR LEDs. If a battery test under load was unsuccessful, the indication 2540
BatTest failed
is issued.

2540
BatTest failed
1)
When the battery test is under load and in progress, without any error detected, the LED BAT flashes green.
2)
When an error is detected during the battery test, the LED BAT flashes red. You can restart the battery test
manually but the LED BAT keeps flashing red until the error is cleared.
The battery terminals can be found in Appendix B Terminal Assignments.
The current battery-voltage measurement value can be found at 2161
Vbat =
.
If the battery charger is functional and the wiring is correct, the test in trickle charging mode can usually be
completed with the result 2155
BAT.CHARGE GOOD
. A too low battery voltage, however, indicates a failing
battery charger, open circuit, or strongly damaged battery.
Test under load:
For the battery test under load, it is necessary first to disconnect the external battery charger from the battery
and then to connect an external, defined load impedance. The 7SC80 provides two binary signals for this
purpose. With the signal 2539
Execut. BatTest
, the battery charger is disconnected from the battery. The
signal 2596
Test load act.
serves for connecting the load impedance. Both switching operations can be
supported by external auxiliary relays.
The battery test under load is executed cyclically. The required test interval can be set using parameter 354
BatTestInterval. The duration of the load test is set with parameter 356 T load active. If a recloser
capacity test is just running at the set starting time, the battery test is only started after the cycle time has
elapsed.
To start a battery test under load manually, activate the binary input 2537
>Start Bat.Test
. Please note
that - out of consideration for the charging state of the battery - a manual start should only be effected 10 h
after completion of any cyclic battery test, inclusive of the recovery time. An earlier manual start will be
rejected and the indication 2538
BatTest aborted
will be issued.
