Upon start of the battery test under load, the indication 2539
Execut. BatTest
is activated. The battery
charger is disconnected from the battery and the battery is granted a settling time at 358 BatTestDelay.
The battery voltage (V1) is measured only after expiry of this time - first without load. Then, the indication
2596
Test load act.
is issued and the battery is connected with a defined load impedance. 600 ms later,
the battery voltage (V2) is measured again.
If the voltage difference V1 - V2 (ΔV) exceeds the limit value which can be set at 355 BatVoltDropLoad, the
test is assessed as failed and aborted. This event is signaled by the indication 2540
BatTest failed
. In
addition to that, the LED BAT starts to flash red. The test impedance is disconnected from the battery (2596
Test load act.
= going) and the battery charger is reconnected (2596
Execut. BatTest
= going). The
battery is then granted a recovery time of 30 minutes during which no battery test is executed. The indication
2540
BatTest failed
remains until a subsequent battery test could be completed successfully or the
7SC80 has been restarted. The same applies to the signaling by the LED BAT.
However, if the voltage difference is in the permissible range, the voltage of the loaded battery (V3) is meas-
ured again after the parameterized time 356 T load active has expired. If the voltage difference V2 - V3
exceeds the fixed limit value of 2 V, the test is assessed as failed and canceled. The indication 2540
BatTest
failed
is issued and the LED BAT starts to flash red.
Regardless of the result of the assessment of the voltage difference V2 - V3, the battery recovery phase is initi-
ated by disconnecting the load impedance (2596
Test load act.
= going).
Battery monitoring in the recovery phase:
After 10 minutes have expired, the battery voltage (V4) is measured again. If the voltage difference V1 - V4
exceeds the limited values which can be set at 357 BatVoltDrpLdTst, it must be assumed that the battery
is damaged. The indication 2541
BatRecov.failed
is issued. However, if the voltage difference is in the
permissible range, the test is assessed as passed.
Regardless of the result of the assessment of the voltage difference V1 - V4, the battery charger is reconnected
(2539
Execut. BatTest
= going).
After a waiting period of 30 minutes, the battery is again monitored cyclically every 600 ms in trickle charging
mode.
Upon triggering of a protection function of the 7SC80, any running battery test is aborted, the test impedance
is disconnected from the battery (2596
Test load act.
= going), and the battery charger is reconnected
(2539
Execut. BatTest
= going). Additionally, the indication 2538
BatTest aborted
is issued. The
battery is then granted a recovery time of 30 minutes during which no battery test is possible.
Indication 444.3003
Bat. Test int.
is used for activating/deactivating the battery test function. When the
function is activated, the test starts cyclically or acyclically upon activation of the binary input indication 2537
>Start Bat.Test
. Any running battery test will be canceled by a deactivation. When the indication 6095
>Block Bat Test
is active, no battery test can be started; any running battery test will be canceled.
To start a battery test
the function must be available (parameter 350 Bat. Monitor = Enabled),
activated (parameter 351 Bat. Monitor = ON or indication 444.3003
Bat. Test int.
= ON)
and the blocking be deactivated (indication 6095
>Block Bat Test
= inactive).
Interaction of capacity test and battery test:
Capacity test and battery test are started cyclically, for example, once per week or month. The cycle times can
be selected separately. The state of the battery and the recloser capacitances are monitored. Any deviations
from the nominal condition are detected and can be signaled.
The capacity test and battery test starts are mutually interlocked so that the two tests cannot be started simul-
taneously. Before the start of a capacity test, it is checked whether a battery test has been completed success-
fully and the recovery time of the battery has already expired.
Attempt to start the capacity test while a battery test is running:
A manual start is ignored.
A cyclic start is only executed after the battery test has been completed.
Attempt to start the battery test while a capacity test is running:
