6.1.4 Cutting with a DC5(sx)
The DC5(sx) is not made to use as a cutter. The reason for that is the supply mechanism. It is
internally switched off during cutting (to avoid that the supply roll unrolls because of the
constant movement of the vinyl during cutting). So when the DC5(sx) is used for cutting
only, the media has to be loaded as a ‘sheet’.
The program WinPlot accepts eps and ai files with cut data. It can then send the data to the
DC5(sx). Use the DC4 driver for the DC5 and the DC4sx driver for the DC5sx.
NOTE: A cutting driver (WinPlot) can be found on the USB stick.
It is recommended to skip this installation; the program can always be installed at a
later date in the unlikely event that the need should arise.
