6.3.2 How to rip, View and print
There are three main buttons in the program.
click this button to open a file to rip. The last used directory is automatically
saved.
click this button to print a job that was already ripped (scc file). The directory
that opens is set in the preferences menu (see section 6.3.1.5).
click this button to preview a job that was already ripped (scc file). The directory
that opens is set in the preferences menu (see section 6.3.1.4).
If the plug-in for Corel or Illustrator is used, then the program Summa Color Control opens
automatically with the printer dialog window and the current open file in the design
program.
The settings for the RIP are described in the next section. If the settings are set correct, then
click on the button. If a certain ribbon color is not available in the printer, then
a message will appear, but it will still be possible to put the job in the queue.
Color Control does not show a print preview before the printing is started. If a print preview
is necessary before the printing is started, follow next procedure to RIP, View and then print.
Click and select the file to rip. In the first tab choose to .
Set the rest of the printing preferences as explained in the next section. Click on
.
The job is ripped and a preview is shown on the screen. Only the print data is shown in the
preview.
To print the file click on and choose the file with the same name as on the
preview window. Click the button. Print out the file. A couple of settings can be
changed. However it is not advised to do so. It is better to re-rip it if settings need to be
changed.
